The courses were designed to familiarise newly commissioned Engineer (Radio) Officers with the full range of duties that were likely to come their way as they progressed in the category. Commissioned SNCO’s were given a shorter course than those who came through the engineer cadet scheme, as they had an understanding of the range of duties to which they might be assigned. The SNCO course was 15 weeks (just short of 4 months) and the cadet course was 4 weeks longer. |
