TPI, EDA, PCC and war widows with Gold card eligible for rebate on gas and electricity. People requiring dialysis machines, respirators etc may also be eligible for elec rebate.

Recreational Fishing Licences

No license required to fish in ocean or rivers in Qld. Fishing in stocked waterways (dams etc) requires a permit, but Qld Seniors, PCC, Health Care Card and Gold Card holders are eligible for a discount. See HERE

PCC, TPI, EDA and receiving disability pension of 70% or more not required to hold a licence.   PCC and TPI vets are not required to hold a fishing licence. Licence not required for recreational fishing in SA Licence not required for recreational fishing in NT Persons under 16, PCC, under the Coal Industry Super Act, TPI, War Widow are elibible for 50% on certain sish species. Funeral Benefits

 

TPI and EDA recipients as well as ex-prisoners of war and those receiving increased rate for double amputation are eligible for a funeral benefit.

Great Southern Railways

 

PCC and CSHC holders are eligible for a discount of up to 55% on The Ghan, The Indian Pacific, The Overland. 

TPI's and EDA Veterans and their carers are eligible for free travel in a Sleeper over the C'wealth owned track. See HERE.

 

Health treatment

 

Gold Card holders are eligible for free  medical, hospital and allied health services. White card holders are eligible for free treatment for their ailment.

 

Hearing service

 

PCC, Gold Card recipients, DVA white card for hearing condition, dependent of a Pension and/or Concession Card holder and members of the ADF are eligible for free hearing

tests and free range of quality hearing devices.

 

Motor vehicle GST exemption.

 

TPI vets are entitled to GST exemption on the purchase a new or SH car and for spare parts necessary for the running of that car. See HERE.

 

Pharmaceutical benefits

 

PCC holders receive pharmaceuticals under the PBS at $6.20per script. Free after reaching the Safety Net Threshold. See HERE

Public Transport

TPI Queenslanders receive unlimited free travel on bus, rail and ferries in SE Qld (excluding Airtrain) as well as QConnect local bus service in reginal towns.

 

TPI also received one free return trip each fortnight on Traveltrain long distance rail services.

Interstate PCC holders are eligible for a pensioner excursion ticket for travel in Sydney and Newcastle.  Veterans receiving a disability pension who live in NSW are eligible for free Sydney/Newcastle rail, bus and ferry travel, also half fare on Airport link. Those living outside of Sydney/Newcastle are eligible for 3 return trips on NSW CountryLink routes.

 

War  Widows are eligible for a Pensioner Excursion Ticket which at a flat rate covers all day travel around Sydney and Newcastle. They also receive half fare on most Gov't and private rail, bus and ferry services.

 

Veterans blinded due to war service who live in NSW receive free travel for self and a guide on all City Rail services and AirportLink stations.

 

Residents suffering severe and permanent disability may be eligible for half fare taxi costs.

PCC, DVA Gold Card holders eligible for 50% fare. TPI's and residents 75 years and older eligible for free travel on ACTION busses.

Resident Vets who have undertaken war, peace-making, peace-keeping service overseas and have either a Gold or White card are eligible for free travel on train, tram and bus in metro Melbourne, train and coach services on V/Line and other public transport services operated under contract with Public Transport Victoria. Gold card with TPI and War Widow, orange card, PCC and C'wealth Seniors card may be eligible for $500 each 2 years for domestic or overseas travel by air, bus, rail or boat.

Aged residents and those receiving 70% DVA pension or more & ex-prisoners of war entitled to free transport on Transperth and Transwa services between 9.00am and 3.30pm M-F, all weekends and P/Hols - discount at all other times. See HERE.

 

PCC holders entitled to one free return journey or two single journeys per year on Transwa or coach services. Gold Card holders are entitled to two free return and 4 single journeys.

 

PCC holders who have lived above the 26th parallel (Shark Bay) for 2 years or more are entitled to the cost of one return air or coach trip to Perth as well as a return trip via coach from Perth to Meekatharra.  See HERE.

State seniors card The Seniors Card is issued free and provides access to savings on a range of goods and services provided by participating businesses. ACT permanent residents working less than 20 hours per week are eligible. Card provides discounts at about 470 ACT businesses plus concession travel on the NSW Opal trnsport network. The Seniors Card is issued free and provides access to savings on a range of goods and services provided by participating businesses. See HERE The Seniors Card is issued free and entitles holder to free Adelaide Metro travel on public transport during off peak periods M-F and all day weekends and Pub Hols and approx 50% discount at other times. Perm residents in Qld with Gold card, PCC, health care card, Qld Seniors card eligible for 1 pair of glasses free each 2 years.

PCC holders receive free eyesight tests

Residents with Centrelink full pension, NewStart allowance or are under 18 and dependant of eligible person you are eligible for  discount on glasses. See HERE

PCC holders who do not hold either a DVA Gold Card or a DVA White Card which entitles them to receive treatment at DVA expense for eye disabilities can receive a subsidy of up to $50 for spectacles once every two years. 

Telstra

 

PCC holders, TPI's, EDA's eligible for discount on new telephone connection fee and reduction on home line costs.

DVA card holders, age pensioners, disability support pensioners are eligible for lost cost internet connection.

 

Vehicle rego and driver licenses.

PCC holders, TPI, EDA, war widows with gold card, vets on 70% or greater, MRCA clients with 50 or more impairment points eligible for concession on rego for 1 vehicle and 1 boat.

PCC holders, TPI, EDA, war widows with gold card, vets on 70% or greater, MRCA clients with 50 or more impairment points eligible for concession on rego for 1 vehicle. All eligible pensioners are exempt form fees for drivers licenses etc.

ACT Seniors, DVA Gold Card, PCC holders, primary producers and owner of gas and elec vehicles entitled to concession on registration.

PCC and Gold Cards marked TPI and EDA and vets receiving disability pension at 100% are eligible for a 100% reduction on the rego fee. Other Gold Card holders except those marked dependant, are eligible for a 50% rego reduction. See HERE

PCC, TPI and EDA, and blind vets or have lost a leg or foot  are eligible for exemption on stamp duty on CTP, and 50% reduction on rego and license fees. See HERE.

DVA Gold Card, and NTPCC people are eligible for concession on rego and CTP insurance for private vehicle

PCC, SCHC with a WA Seniors card, TPI's and EDA of age pension age entitled to free licence. All other card holders get 50% discount. PCC and CSHC holders with WA Seniors Card eligible for 50% discount on rego.
