Final Telstech Graduation.

The final Telstech course (3/88) graduated from Radschool on the 16th August 1989. The graduation parade for the five membes was witnessed by Telstechs from HQSC, 1AD and Radschool, together with friends and dependants.

The Telstech mustering ceases to exist on the 1st December, 1989 where upon they amalgamate with the Radio Technician Ground mustering.

During his graduatioin speech, WGCDR John Dallimore (CO Radschool) described the beginnings of the Telstech mustering at Ballarat in 1952 and also their dedicated involvement throughout Australia and overseas during the last four decades. The CO made mention of the many Telstechs who had aspired to bigger and better tasks within the RAAF. A special thankyou was passed to WGCDR Val Robinson (Ex Telstech and next Radschool CO) for his attendance at the graduation Parade.

Following the Radschool CO's speech, 3 masked demonstrators waving placards (assumed to be RadtechGs) light heartedly demonstrated against the entry of Telstechs into their mustering. (These members have since been identified and will be dealt with by selected Telstechs.)

To mark the end of the Telstech era, functions are planned at Laverton. A dining out night will be held on the 30 November 1989 and a casual barbecue lunch on the 1st December 1989. Invitations are extended to all Telstechs and ex Telstechs civilians throughout Australia to attend. Come aong, brign your old photographs etc and see some old work mates from thje past. All arrangements are being coordinated by ex-WOFF Neill Hunter (Ph 03 369 3575 AH).
